On 6 September 2023, the first game of the ‘Super 4’ stage of the ongoing Asia Cup took place in Lahore between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they got bundled out for just 193 runs in 38.4 overs. But, during Pakistan’s chase, fans were left surprised as One of the floodlights at the stadium went off.

The incident took place after the completion of the fifth over as Pakistan were on 15 runs without losing a single wicket. After a break of 18 minutes, the play resumed but it was quite an embarrassing moment for Pakistan cricket as they are the official host of this tournament this time around. However, due to the hybrid model, only four matches are being played in Pakistan and the rest of the nine matches are being played in Sri Lanka.
