Shikhar Dhawan makes massive claim on his ex-wife, says she threatened to tarnish his reputation

India batter Shikhar Dhawan is currently out of Team India’s squad from all formats. He has now caught the attention due to matters pertaining to his personal life. He filed a case against his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee for attempting to defame the cricketer post their separation.

Delhi's Patiala House Court has directed Ayesha not to make any statement in the media or social media that might malign the cricketer's image. In the year 2020, Ayesha announced her separation from Dhawan on social media. The divorce case of both is currently going on in court.

Dhawan had made several allegations against his wife Ayesha by filing an application in Delhi's Patiala House Court. He alleged that his ex-wife is giving such statements in social media and media which are tarnishing his image. It is also affecting his mental health and personal life as well. While hearing this petition, the court reacted to it.

“Reputation of a person is dear to everyone and is considered as property of highest degree because materialistic property can be regained after loss but reputation cannot be regained once damaged. Therefore, it has got to be protected. However, it is equally true that if anyone has lawful grievance against someone, he or she cannot be restrained from venting out his or her grievance to concerned authority,” the judge said in the order passed on February 1.

“Therefore, in these circumstances, she is hereby restrained till further order from circulating any of her grievance against Dhawan or her version of the dispute involved herein or the alleged defamatory and false material against the him, to social media, to print media or to any other’ forum or to friends, relatives or colleagues of the parties,” the judge added.

The left-handed batter and Ayesha got married in the year 2012. Ayesha has been living in Australia for a long time. Even before marrying Dhawan, Ayesha had a marriage that could not last long. Although she has two daughters from that marriage, who were often seen with Dhawan earlier. Dhawan and Ayesha have a son Zoravar who mostly lives with his mother. The star couple is living separately since 2020. Last year Zoravar had come to India to meet Dhawan.
