Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has given a cheeky reply after India's loss against Bangladesh. The pacer also joked on his YouTube channel about how India's defeat will be celebrated by Pakistan fans, including him. He believes this is a wake-up call for Team India.

India lost by 6 runs against Bangladesh in their last Super 4 match of the ongoing Asia Cup. This was their first loss in 11 years in the continental event. The last time the seven-time champions lost was when Sachin Tendulkar scored his hundredth hundred. This time also another youngster scored 121 runs off 133 balls in a losing cause.

India have lost the game. Embarrassing loss: Shoaib Akhtar

The former pacer stated, "India have lost the game. Embarrassing loss. We can't criticize too much. Bangladesh are here to play. People were criticizing Pakistan, saying that they got beaten up. Sri Lanka are a good team, not an average team. The same is the case with Bangladesh. They are all playing international cricket. Finally, some relief for the the Pakistan fans, including me, that India have lost the game. Wake up call for India. You can't take teams lightly after winning a few games."

Akhtar also refused to label any team as favourites, adding that it can be "anyone's game". He said, "We are saying that Pakistan and India are favourites at World Cup. These two, along with Australia and England, will reach the semis. This is not the case. Small teams will trouble. This is anybody's game. Shubman Gill's ton went in vain. India need to wake up. No disrespect but Bangladesh made a statement that they are here to prove a point."

Batting first Bangladesh posted a defendable score of 265/8. With skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy scoring half-centuries. The former scored 80 runs and Hridoy scored 54 runs. They stitched a 100-run partnership when their team was in trouble. In the end, Nasum Ahmed scored 44 runs. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers, picking up three wickets.

In reply, only Shubman Gill stuck to on end and wickets fell on the other at regular intervals. He was the lone fighter. After his wicket, Axar Patel scored some vital 42 runs off 34 balls. But in the end, they fell short by 6 runs.
