South Africa vs India Day 2 of the 1st Test is currently underway at the Supersport Park, Centurion. Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to field first, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jensen started strongly on a green wicket. The openers failed to have an impact and they were back in the pavilion early. Rabada dismissed India captain Rohit Sharma for the 13th time in international cricket, as the 36-year-old batter was caught in the deep fine leg area.

They were 24/3 at one stage as Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer then stitched a partnership of 68 runs for the fourth wicket. Then the two quick wickets of the batters backfooted India. Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is having a dream run of his life since his return from the injury he has been in exceptional form in white-ball format and he continued to show his form in the longest format of the game as well.

The wicket-keeper batter scored an exceptional hundred in a difficult wicket of Centurion. He scored 80 runs in boundaries, and smashed 14 fours and 4 sixes in his 101 runs innings. This is Rahul's 8th Test century and the 2nd against the Proteas and both coming on the very same ground. He also becomes the second India wicket-keeper to score a ton after Rishabh Pant in the Rainbow Nation.

Tailenders give valuable support to Rahul

Rahul stitched valuable partnerships with Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj while having the majority of the strike. His partnership with Siraj for the 9th wicket was the second-highest for the side and stitched a valuable 47-run partnership for the side. He also becomes the first batter to hit multiple centuries at the same venue in South Africa. In 8 of his centuries, 7 of them are in away conditions and the Karnataka-born batter is really finding his touch back in the side.

With 245 runs on the board, the bowlers will look to have good support from the wicket as the pacers like Bumrah, Siraj, Shardul and Prasidh Krishna in the side will be trying to get the hosts out as early as possible.
