South Africa bowlers dominate India at end of Day 1 of 1st Test

South Africa vs India 1st Test Day 1 has ended at the Supersport Park, Centurion. The hosts won the toss and elected to field first on a green wicket of the Centurion. Temba Bavuma’s side is playing without their star spinner Keshav Maharaj and has gone with all pacers lineup for the bowling department. On the other hand the Men in Blue had other plans of playing Ravichandran Ashwin instead of Ravindra Jadeja as the all-rounder had backspams ahead of the game.

On a green top pacers like Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jensen, started well, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma were careful with their strokes. The team India skipper was the first one to be dismissed by Rabada as the 36-year-old batter was caught in the deep fine leg area while pulling a short ball of the Protea pacer.

Jaiswal was the next one to be dismissed by Nandre Burger and India were in trouble as Shubman Gill was also back in the pavilions without troubling the scorers they were 24/3. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer then stitched a partnership of 68 runs for the fourth wicket. Both batters failed to reach the half-century marks after getting the start.
