Daniil Medvedev wins an easy match

It was an easy game for the Russian World Number Daniil Medvedev during the Australian Open 2024. On Saturday the Russian showed all of his skills to win the game easily and move into the fourth round.

The match did not last long as his opponent from Canada didn’t put up much fight. In the fourth round, Medvedev will face unseeded Nuno Borges from Portugal. Both players used the big serve to dish out 8 Aces each. While the Canadian won just 1 break point the Russian big man won five break points. It was an easy stroll in the park as the match finished well past the midnight of Australian time.

After the match ended, Medvedev said “It was not easy, I’m not feeling fresh, I’m not feeling 100 percent. It was tough, especially after the last match that I had. I felt it was hard for me when I ran, so I always tried to give him a tough shot so I didn’t have to run. Finally, especially, in the third set I managed to pull of some good shots and am happy about my game”

The 26-year-old has already played a five-set game and then followed it up with a three-set game. With Melbourne witnessing high temperatures yet again it is taking a toll on the health of many players.
