Just a few weeks ahead of the 2024 Australian Open, 28-year-old Nick Kyrgios has revealed his current status. Taking to his Social Media handle, the Aussie has given his fans the belief that he will be back next year. The Australian Open though isn’t going to the first stop for Kyrgios as he attempts a comeback to Tennis.

Speaking on his social media account, the 28-year-old said “I won’t be able to compete at the 2024 Australian Open. Obviously, heartbreaking, I’ve had so many amazing memories there and I just want to really get back to playing at the top of my game and doing it right. I need a little more time”

The Australian continued “Obviously had a really tough year with injury. Had the knee surgery and came back a little too soon and that set me back a little bit, then obviously had some wrist issues. So this is a very disappointing time for me”

Nick Kyrgios is known to make outlandish statements and during his chat on Social Media, it wasn’t any different. “Y’all don’t want to see the healthy return. We will be back at the top”. This was an obvious dig at his previous achievements of beating some of the biggest names in the sport.

2022 was the last time Nick Kyrgios was seen on the Tennis Court. The Australian is yet to win a Grand Slam and is currently at 192 in the World Rankings. His best-ever finish in a Grand Slam was when he reached the Wimbledon Finals in 2022 before losing to Novak Djokovic in four sets.
