Young India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has been phenomenal since the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He won the Emerging Player of the Season award for his amazing performances with the bat. His dedication and commitment also earned him his maiden national call, as he was picked in the T20I and Test teams for the West Indies tour.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal has praised his IPL skipper, Sanju Samson, for his game ethics and commitment to the team. "Sanju Samson's mindset is terrific. He always plays for the team and tries to score as quickly as possible to benefit the team. I love to bat with him", Jaiswal told Lallantop in an exclusive interview.
Further, Jaiswal also spoke about his experience on social media and how he deals with it. "I am thankful to all those who are texting me. are supporting. giving love. I have always said that I respect those who gave me love and supported me. But I try not to reply on Instagram. I just try to keep myself focused. And I try not to pay much attention there."
"I don't open Instagram that much anyway. If I put some text, then I leave it after putting it. I neither read comments nor see messages. It's not that I don't respect him. But it is such that if I have to take care of myself, then I should not allow distractions", he further added.
Yashasvi Jaiswal earned his maiden Test call
As Indian team management decided to move ahead with Cheteshwar Pujara, they picked Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal has been phenomenal throughout the domestic games and has received his reward. It's worth noting that in the intra-squad game, Jaiswal was seen opening the inning with skipper Rohit Sharma. This might be an indication that team management is looking at him as an opener.
This might lead Shubman Gill to play at number three while Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane take care of the middle order. Apart from Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad also earned his maiden Test call. Although he might not be able to start in the first game considering his performance in intra-squad games,
