The 16th edition of the Asia Cup has started which is taking place in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. A total of six teams are participating in this tournament and are divided into two groups. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, and Nepal whereas on the other hand, Group B consists of teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
Recently, the Indian Cricket Board officials decided to plan a visit to Pakistan to witness matches of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. President Roger Binny and Vice-President Rajeev Shukla arrived at Punjab's Amritsar airport as they were about to leave for Pakistan on Monday, September 4.
They are likely to be present in the Gadaffi stadium for Tuesday's fixture. Binny and Shuk are traveling to the neighboring country after getting an invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to attend the competition. Ahead of leaving for Pakistan, Shukla made it clear that this is a two-day trip for the Asia Cup.

"This two-day visit is purely from the point of view of cricket, nothing political, a dinner has been hosted and three teams will be there - Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh," Shukla was quoted as saying to the reporters. Binny who visited Pakistan back in 2006 opined that he looks for this trip.
"I am looking forward to my visit since we've been to Colombo to see matches in Sri Lanka." Binny asserted. " We will go by the advice of the government, whatever the government will decide we will do that," Shukla claimed when he was askes about why India didn't travel to Pakistan for the event.
After the first match was called off due to rain against Pakistan, India is curently locking horns with Nepal in their second and last match of the group stage which is been played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
The Men in Blue's ace seamer, Jasprit Bumrah has opted out for this game due to personel reasons. In place of him, India have gone with Mohammad Shami who was dropped from the team for the first match of the tournament.
