Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets in the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 30. Legendary CSK skipper MS Dhoni has now equalled the record of Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma of winning the title 5 times.

Meanwhile, a picture is getting viral on social media in which Dhoni can be seen holding Bhagavad Geeta while sitting in his car in Mumbai. Many fans have reacted to the picture and said that this is the reason behind Dhoni’s calmness on and off the field. 

After the final match of IPL 2023, Dhoni wasted no time and headed straight to Mumbai to consult a specialist for his knee injury in the Kokilaben Hospital. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter injured his knee during the tournament but continued to play with the injury and now it is being heard that he might undergo a knee surgery to be fully recovered before the start of the next season.

It is being reported by Cricbuzz that Dhoni’s knee surgery might take place on Thursday which is consulted by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala who also treated the young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant after his horrific car accident in December 2022. “Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is the director of sports medicine at the hospital with specialisation in sports orthopedics, is being consulted by the Chennai Super Kings captain,” reported by Cricbuzz.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the reports that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury. He also said that the decision will be completely on Dhoni whether he wants to get the surgery done or not.

“Yes, it is true that Dhoni (Mahi) will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call,” Viswanathan was quoted as saying by The Economic Times.
