Former Indian opener and currently, a cricket expert, Wasim Jaffer recently picked his Indian squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Surprisingly, Jaffer picked the veteran batter Shikhar Dhawan in his World Cup squad. Apart from that, he also included the senior wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul in the squad.
Meanwhile, the squad of India picked by Jaffer drew a lot of contrasting reactions from cricket fans on Twitter. Fans registered their dissent after seeing a few names missing from the squad picked by the former opener. Fans were also shocked after not seeing the name of veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin considering the turning tracks of India.

Notably, the preparations of Team India will begin with the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting from the 27th of July later this week. The management had already announced the squad for the ODI squad against the Caribbean side. The men in blue will be playing under the captaincy of regular skipper Rohit Sharma in this series; star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be there in the role of Rohit’s deputy.
