One of the best cricket players of all time has to be Virat Kohli. His popularity and fan base are unparalleled in cricket. With 75 hundreds to his glorious name, Kohli is only below Sachin Tendulkar for the number of most international century. He has taken over international cricket since the day he played his debut game.

Given the intense competition and small number of available spots, playing cricket in India has not been an easy task. However, Kohli put in all the effort necessary to realise his dream of playing cricket for India and did so in the end. Virat Kohli wrote about his desire to play for India in a scrapbook that was given to him by a friend and filled out between the years 2002 to 2003.

Virat Kohli's childhood friend said, "I've a scrapbook which was filled by Virat in 2002/3. There's a section of what's your ambitions - Virat mentioned 'become an Indian cricketer."

Virat Kohli is, presently, participating in the Indian Premier League 2023. With the bat, Kohli has been in excellent form, amassing 364 runs across nine games. The Royal Challengers Bangalore mainstay has also displayed his greatest aggression during the competition. An energised Kohli argued with Afghan quick Naveen ul Haq and Lucknow Super Giants coach Gautam Gambhir during a recent match against LSG in Lucknow.

With Lucknow Super Giants having defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore previously in the tournament at Chinnaswamy, Kohli was fired up and eager to take revenge. After the victory, LSG coach Gautam Gambhir calmed the RCB supporters and responded in an emotional manner. Fighting fire with fire is something Kohli is known for doing, so he made sure LSG experienced it at their home ground.

Earlier, Kohli had attracted attention for giving Sourav Ganguly a near-death experience. Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly's connection suffered when Kohli was fired as the captain of the Indian team and Ganguly was appointed president of the Indian Cricket Board.
