Former India batter Sachin Tendulkar has been invited to attend the unveiling of Muttiah Muralitharan's biopic '800'. Muralitharan is the former Sri Lankan off-spinner who concluded his Test career with his 800th wicket in 2010. In April, the filmmakers unveiled the first look of the film, and now they have shared another teaser, offering a sneak peek into the film and what to expect. The 51-year-old Sri Lankan off-spinner is also a son-in-law of India.

The 50-year batter will be unveiling the trailer on Tuesday, September 5. The new clip begins with a glimpse of the Sri Lankan bowler's childhood days when he earned the title of 'Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year'. In the next frame, it is shown that he has grown up and is shown earning many titles back-to-back, owing to his excellence.

Actor Madhur Mittal to play Sri Lanka star's roleΒ

The Sri Lankan spinner is the only bowler to take 800 Test wickets and more than 530 One Day International (ODI) wickets. To date, he has taken more wickets in international cricket than any other bowler. He made his Test debut in 1992 and went on to play 133 Tests, taking 800 wickets at an average of 22.72. He also played 350 ODIs, taking 534 wickets at an average of 23.08. The off-spinner was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2002.

The teaser also shows the tough times that Muralitharan faced when he got into a controversy over his bowling action, followed by the glorious moment when Sri Lanka lifted the 1996 World Cup trophy and then when the Lankan team was attacked in Pakistan. The teaser visuals merged on Madhur Mittal's, revealing his look as the famed cricketer.

The roles of Murali and his wife are being played by Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiyar. The shootings of the biopic took place in India, Sri Lanka, and England. Murali will be present with the cast and crew of the film. Also invited is Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya. He will be present at the trailer as a special guest. The film also stars Naren, Nassar, Ritvika, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Arul Das, among others. It is directed by MS Sripathy.
