India have had a dominating start to the year 2023 by winning four consecutive series. After sweeping Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home, the Indian team are now ready to play a four-match Test series against Australia. The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is to be played in Nagpur from February 9.

Meanwhile, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin posted a story on his Instagram, which is from India's practice session in Nagpur. He has shared a funny video with his teammate Mohammed Siraj. In this video, Ashwin asked Siraj how he is feeling after becoming the no.1 ranked ODI bowler in the world.

Watch the video here:

In the first clip, Ashwin asked Siraj in Tamil asking “No. 1 ODI bowler, yeppadi da irrukai, yeppadi da feel pannrai?” (No. 1 ODI bowler, how are you? How are you feeling?) to which Siraj replied in his mother tongue. On being asked by Ashwin how he was feeling after becoming the World No. 1 bowler in ODIs, Siraj said:

“Bahut hi achha lag raha hai, socha nahi tha ki number 1 bowler banunga. It’s a good feeling (I’m feeling quite good, I’ve never imagined I would become number 1 bowler).”

India started practicing for the Test series

Players like Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Siraj have performed brilliantly in the series against Sri Lanka and the Blackcaps. Talking about Siraj, he has performed amazingly in the ODI series. Siraj also bowled well in his early days of Test cricket, especially on the Australia tours. Because of his outstanding performance in the white ball format, he became the no.1 bowler in ODI.

The 28-year-old has now started sweating out for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. All the top Test cricketers of India including Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ashwin have started their preparation from Friday. Both Ashwin and Siraj were part of the Indian team that made history two years ago in Australia by winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series 2-1. It will be interesting to watch how they perform in this series.
