Benny Howell was shown the way to the pavilion by Sussex pacer Bradley Currie during his team's Vitality Blast match against Hampshire on Friday after he made one of the greatest catches in history with a breathtaking soaring effort on the boundary rope.

In his team's Vitality Blast T20 match against Hampshire on Friday, June 16, Sussex pacer Bradley Currie made one of the greatest catches in cricket history to dismiss Benny Howell. Many people on social media were amazed by the Scottish cricketer's amazing soaring effort on the boundary rope. As Sussex defeated Hampshire by six runs at the County Ground in Hove, one of the game's most notable moments was Curie's outstanding catch.

When Howell completely smoked a fullish delivery from Tymal Mills on the first ball of the 19th over, it appeared as though the ball would easily soar over the boundary ropes for a six. Currie, who was approaching from the left, stopped it in its tracks with a flawless dive and a stunning catch with only one hand.

The Scottish pacer gave a remarkable performance, showing quick reactions and extraordinary athleticism to make what is unquestionably one of the greatest receptions in history. Fans are in awe of Currie's incredible effort as the video of his stunning one-handed catch has gone viral on social media.

Here’s the viral video:

Sussex won the match by 6 runs with Currie bagging 3/27

Currie was a master with the ball, but it was his remarkable catch that made headlines. By holding Hampshire to 177/9 in 20 overs, the bowler helped Sussex defend its score of 183 runs by taking three wickets. In the second over of their run-chase, Currie cheaply removed Toby Albert on a duck before dismissing Hamshire's opener James Vince for just eight runs.

Ross Whiteley was eventually out after being struck LBW, facing five deliveries, giving Currie outstanding figures of 3/27 in his four overs. Sussex needed the win badly since they have just six points from nine games this season and are now in ninth place in the South Group of the Vitality Blast.
