Portugal football captain and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is now officially a new Al Nassr player. On Friday, December 30, 2022, the 37-year-old joined the Saudi Arabian club for a reported INR 1770 crores, and on Tuesday, January 3, he was officially unveiled as the new Al Nassr player in front of thousands of fans in Saudi Arabia.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who has played for Sporting CP, Manchester United on two separate stints, Real Madrid, and Juventus, reached Saudi Arabia on Tuesday morning with his family. Meanwhile, during the press conference he got confused between Saudi Arabia and South Africa. He called himself a unique player and said that he will break records in Saudi.

"For me, it's not the end of my career to come to South Africa (Arabia). This is why I want to change. To be honest, I don't care what people say. I took my decision. I am really, really happy to be here," Ronaldo said at the press conference.

“I’m a unique player. It’s good to come here, I broke all the records there (in Europe) and I want to break a few records here, I’m coming here to win, to play, to enjoy, to be part of the success of the country and culture of the country, It’s not the end of my career to come to South Africa (Saudi Arabia). This is why I change and, to be honest, I’m really not worried about what people say,” Ronaldo said.

Ronaldo to play for the first time outside Europe

Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia after an unceremonious exit from Manchester United. The player also did not have a good time at the FIFA World Cup 2022 and exited in the quarter-final stages of the tournament after getting defeated by Morocco.

Ronaldo is the all-time leading goal scorer in international football with 118 strikes to his name from 196 matches, has scored a total of 701 goals in 951 matches at club level in all competitions. He has won numerous awards during his playing career in Europe. But now, it will be interesting to see how play with the new club and for how much time.
