Despite not playing international cricket for over three years, former India captain MS Dhoni still has a huge fan following across the globe. The 42-year-old, who led India to greater heights with his captaincy and batting prowess, is now only seen in action with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently, the wicket-keeper batter is enjoying his off time with his family and friends.

Being trending while not being active in the field is not everyone's cup of tea. Dhoni who is currently not active in cricket is also not active on social media. However, several videos and pictures of him have been doing the rounds on social media in recent times, in which fans share their happiness of getting a glimpse of the legendary cricketer.

India recalls captain MS Dhoni's brilliance in 2011 World Cup

Dhoni led CSK to their fifth IPL title in the 2023 edition with a resounding victory over Gujarat Titans in the final. There were rumours throughout the tournament that Dhoni won't be playing the next season. However, after their title win, he himself hinted at a return for the 2024 season for his adoring fans. Notably, the right-hander played the previous IPL with a knee injury and underwent surgery for the same immediately after the tournament.

Meanwhile, with the 2023 ODI World Cup fast approaching, the Indian cricket fraternity remembers the Ranchi-born cricketer for one more reason. The quadrennial event is returning to India after 12 years. When India last hosted the World Cup in 2011, they won the title under the leadership of MS Dhoni. This time too, for the same reason, Men in Blue are considered favourites.
