MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, celebrated his 42nd birthday on Friday, July 7, and the man, who rarely publishes updates on social media, finally offered his followers a glimpse into his birthday celebration. Dhoni was spotted celebrating his birthday with his pet dogs, cutting his cake, and then feeding it to them afterwards.

The 42-year-old last posted a video on Instagram in February 2023, and after five months, he finally gave another update, thanking his fans and fellow cricketers for their kind words on his birthday. In the recently posted video, Dhoni can be seen cutting the cake and sharing it with his dogs. "Thanks a lot for all your warm wishes; here's a glimpse of what I did on my birthday," wrote Dhoni while sharing the video.

Here is the video:

Dhoni's wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni, commented on the video using a variety of emoticons. In just 40 minutes, the video had 4.4 million views. It's worth noting that the great cricketer's birthday was celebrated like a festival around the country, with fans erecting cut-outs varying in size from 55 feet to 77 feet, the largest ever for any cricketer.

Will Dhoni play for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL in 2024?

Dhoni just underwent knee surgery after experiencing pain throughout the IPL 2023 season, but it didn't stop the wicketkeeper batter from helping his beloved Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth IPL title. After winning the trophy, Dhoni said that he would try his best to make a comeback, as it would be the biggest gift for his fans. He had said, "Looking for an answer? As you can see, this is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year

"The easy thing would be for me to say "Thank you very much", but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another nine months and come back and play at least one more season of the IPL. A lot depends on the body; I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side; it's not easy for me, but that's a gift. The way they've shown their love and affection, I think that's something I need to do for them," he said.
