While verbal spats and abuse between players are quite common in cricket these days, physical battles between them are not something we see very often. However, anything like that happening on a cricket field is a complete disgrace to this beautiful sport and is not something we can encourage. Meanwhile, a similar incident happened recently in Bangladesh, not among professional cricketers but among movie celebrities.

Ahead of the Bangladesh national cricket team embarking on their journey in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, a Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) has been organised in the country to ignite the cricket fever among their fans. However, the 2023 edition of the Bangladesh tournament between film stars turned out to be embarrassing rather than inspiring.

During a fixture of a CCL match in Dhaka's Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Friday night, a violent fight broke out between players, leaving six people injured. According to reports, the fight between the team of filmmaker Mustafa Kamal Raj and Dipankar Deepon erupted due to a wrong decision by the umpire. The verbal altercation soon turned into a physical brawl, with the players punching and hitting each other with cricket bats in hand.

A video of the ugly fight is doing the rounds on social media, in which the X user explains that the incident took place after a boundary was denied and the umpire's decision to give out. He also said that six people were hospitalised and the tournament was cancelled before the semi-final stage.

Meanwhile, in another video, actress Raj Ripa has been seen making serious accusations against producer Mustafa Kamal Raj and actor Shariful Razz. She claimed that Kamal Raj would be responsible if anything happened to her career and accused his team of throwing water bottles at her.

As reported by Bangladeshi media, Dhaka Tribune, actor Monir Hossain Shimul, a member of Dipanka’s team, said that their opponent brought outsiders to beat them. "They brought outsiders who started attacking us. What kind of a CCL match is this?," he said.

"Raz Bhai's team initiated the attack, bringing in outsiders. One of our players was assaulted, and Mousumi Hamid got injured," said actor Joy Chowdhury, another player from the same team.
