On Tuesday, August 29 the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Manish Pandey came up with a stunning save to prevent a six in the very final over of the final of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2023. The Mysore Warriors needed 11 runs from the final 4 balls when J Suchith hit Manvanth Kumar’s delivery towards long-off.
The left-handed batsman had made a very good connection with the ball and it looked like the ball would cross the boundary easily for a six. However, the former KKR batter had other ideas, just before the ball could cross the ropes and land outside the boundary, he caught the ball with both hands before throwing it back onto the field.

Manish Pandey shines in the final
Hubli Tigers managed to win the title by defeating Mysore Warriors by 8 runs. Putting to bat first, the Tigers lost Luvnith Sisodia off the second ball but were stabled by a brilliant 90-run second wicket stand from 59 balls between Taha who scored 72 runs off 40 balls, and K.L. Shrijith who scored 38 runs off 31 balls.
Their captain majorly contributed by leading from the front. He played a fantastic unbeaten knock of 50 runs off 23 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes. It helped his side to score 42 runs from the last three overs. They added 75 runs in the final five overs. With this contribution, the score went on to 203/8.
In reply, the Warriors were off to a fine start as openers S.U. Karthik scored 28 runs off 18 balls and R. Samarth scored 63 runs off 35 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes to put on 57 runs from just 32 balls. Tigers reached 134 for two, with a little over seven overs left and 70 runs to get.
But after the dismissal of the Warriors captain on 37 runs, the middle order collapsed. K.S. Lankesh was dismissed in the last five overs as the Warriors needed 26 from the last two overs. Manvanth Kumar's brilliant final over under pressure defending 12 runs while picking two wickets and an unbelievable flying effort from Manish Pandey saving a certain six proved to be a game-changer for the Hubli Tigers.
