"We've had some big fights and big matches. I'm so happy to see him back in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam and playing his best again."

MS Dhoni preferred Piyush Chawla over Rohit Sharma: Raja Venkat
Meanwhile, in another interview, former India selector, Raja Venkat revealed that the selectors wanted to include Rohit Sharma in the 2011 ODI World Cup. However, Dhoni asked for Piyush Chawla to be on the side. Sharma has managed to become a captain now. However, there was a time when he felt the disappointment for missing out.
The right-hander is yet to win an ODI World Cup, having won the T20I (2007) and mini World Cup (Champions Trophy 2013).
"When we sat to select the team, Rohit was very much in the scheme of things. So when we were selecting the team, from 1-14, everything was accepted.
"MS Dhoni wanted Piyush Chawla instead of Rohit Sharma. So immediately Gary Kirsten somersaulted and he said, 'No, I think that's the better choice.' So that's how Rohit Sharma got left out," he added.
