India faced Pakistan in their first Asia Cup 2023 game at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on Saturday. After winning the toss, India skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. This decision later came to haunt the Indian team as the weather played spoilsport. Batting first, the Indian top order once again fell prey to a left-arm pacer.

Openers Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed cheaply. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf created hovock in India's top order. However, despite their amazing performance, a Pakistani fan was not happy. A Pakistani fangirl was left heartbroken as her favourite player, Virat Kohli, failed to score a century.

In a viral video, the Pakistani fan girl can be seen speaking about her experience. She revealed that she loves both countries and was there to watch Kohli. "I support both Pakistan and India, both together. Virat Kohli is my favourite player; I have come here to see him. I was expecting him to score a century, but I'm heartbroken. Further, when another Pakistan fan tried to intervene, she said, "Chacha, Padosiyon se pyaar karna buri baat toh nahi hoti.

Earlier in the game, India started well, as skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 15 quick runs. However, rain interrupted the game, and Indian batters failed to concentrate on the game. Shaheen Afridi started the proceedings as he dismissed Rohit and Kohli in the next two overs. Further, Haris Rauf took the charge as he dismissed Rusty Gill and Shreyas Iyer.

After their departure, wicketkeeper-batters Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya rescued India. Both batters added 138 runs for the fifth wicket and led India to a comfortable total of 266/10 in 48.5 overs. However, the rain then didn't allow any further play as it got heavier with time. Due to this, officials called off the game. It's worth noting that this 1-point propelled Pakistan into Super 4. India will now face Nepal on Monday to fix their place.
