Star India batter Virat Kohli has been phenomenal throughout the ongoing West Indies tour. In two innings, he scored 188 runs, including a tonne in the second game. Notably, after the Day 2 game, Kohli met the mother of West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva. Da Silva's mother was in tears after meeting Kohli, and sang praises of the Indian.

In the viral video, Da Silva's mother can be seen hugging Kohli while having tears in her eyes. "Kohli is one of the best batsmen in our lifetime. So it is an honour for me to meet him and for my son to be in the same field as him," she said in the video shared by journalist Vimal Kumar. On Friday, Kohli hit his first overseas century in the last five years. However, his amazing innings got a bad end as he suffered a run-out.

Earlier, on Day 1, Da Silva was heard speaking with Kohli on the stump mic. Da Silva asked Kohli to complete his century, to which Kohli replied, "You're obsessed with my milestones?" In response, the Trinidad batter said, "I know I am; I want you to get your 100." Joshua further said, "My mom told me on the phone that she’s coming to see Virat and not me. That’s literally what my mom said. I couldn’t believe it. I don’t blame her, to be honest. She’s right up there watching."

West Indies fought back as India scored a mammoth total

As India was bowled out for a mammoth score, West Indies batters took charge of the game and helped the hosts be in a comfortable position. In response to India's 438 runs, the West Indies scored 86/1 till stumps on Day 2. Opener and skipper Kreg Braithwaite scored an unbeaten 37 runs off 128 balls with the help of three fours. On the other hand, T. Chandrapaul scored 33 runs off 95 balls with the help of four fours before getting dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja.

In the end, Krik McKnezie remained unbeaten as he scored 14 runs off 25 balls with the help of a four and a six. Notably, India managed to take a single wicket as the pitch looked flattered for batting. Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was the man for the visitors as he broke up the crucial first-wicket partnership. The West Indies are still trailing India by 352 runs.
