India and Sri Lanka clashed against each other in the third and final match of the T20 series in Rajkot on Saturday, January 7. The Hardik Pandya-led team ended their T20I series on a positive note as they won the third game by a huge margin of 91 runs. Indian batters were on fire in the first innings after two pretty average performances in the first two matches.

India’s Mr. 360, Suryakumar Yadav single-handedly led the team’s innings. He played an unbeaten knock of 112 runs off 51 balls, which included 7 fours and 9 sixes. The team put on a humongous total of 228 runs on the board. Surya was greeted by a special gesture at the end of the game from his fellow teammate Yuzvendra Chahal.

After the match got over, in a light moment on the ground, Yuzvendra Chahal was seen holding Surya's hands and kissing them, to indicate the magic in his hands as he scores one brilliant knock after another in the shortest format of the game.

Suryakumar Yadav is the no.1 T20I batter in the world currently

Suryakumar became the third batsman to score a century thrice in his international T20 career. Earlier this feat was achieved by Glenn Maxwell and Colin Munro. Rohit Sharma has achieved this feat four times. The 2022 year was a great one for Suryakumar Yadav. He is currently the number one T20I batsman in the world.

Suryakumar talked about his innings in the post-match presentation and said that it was easier for him to play those kinds of shots in the match because he practice those shots in the nets. He also said that the boundaries behind were small so that’s why he was targeting them.

"It's really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for a game. If you do that in practice, it gets a little easier while playing the game. There is a lot of hard work involved but it's about doing quality practice sessions. You should know what your game is and prepare accordingly. Boundaries behind are like 50-60 meters, so I was targeting them", Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
