Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the five-time champions after winning the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). CSK defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 29 and equalled the record of Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma of winning the championship 5 times.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt was asked by a fan on his YouTube Channel to draw a comparison between Dhoni and Rohit on the basis of their fitness. But lashed out at the Indian cricket team captain and said there is a world of difference between both players.
“There's a world of difference between the two. Rohit Sharma has a big designation, he's the captain of India. He should be leading by example in all aspects, and fitness is a very important aspect. As a captain, when you are in a position to demand something from your teammates, you should have them yourself. You should be top of the line,” Butt said on his YouTube Channel.
I don't know why he isn't fit enough: Salman Butt
Dhoni announced his retirement on August 15, 2020, but continued to play in IPL. Despite leaving international cricket, the former legendary Indian cricketer kept himself fit. On the other hand, Rohit often gets trolled for his fitness on social media, however, it never affected his batting ability as he continued to play big knocks. Meanwhile, Butt thinks that Rohit can work on his fitness which will help him to improve his batting more. Butt also said that he doesn’t know why Rohit is not keeping himself fit.
“When you look at Rohit Sharma, you realise that fitness is one aspect where he can be a lot better. It will improve his batting and confidence as well. But we are talking about it for a long time now. I don't know why he isn't fit enough. Maybe he knows the reason himself,” Butt added.
