Erling Haaland is undoubtedly one of the most exciting young footballers in the world right now. His sensational form in recent weeks has left football fans and pundits alike in awe. Haaland has scored a remarkable 13 goals in his last six matches, a feat that has prompted even the most seasoned observers to sit up and take notice.

With 32 goals in just 28 Premier League appearances, Haaland has outperformed some of the most prolific strikers in the competition's history. His tally of 32 goals is better than the best scoring Premier League seasons of Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry, Kevin Phillips, Robin van Persie, Didier Drogba, Les Ferdinand, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Romelu Lukaku, Fernando Torres, Jamie Vardy, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ian Wright, Frank Lampard, Sadio Mane, Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke, Dimitar Berbatov, Raheem Sterling, Michael Owen, Nicolas Anelka, Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane.

Haaland's incredible scoring form has seen him break numerous records this season. He has already surpassed Sergio Aguero’s total return in any of his 10 Premier League campaigns with Manchester City, as well as Wayne Rooney’s total return in any of his 16 Premier League campaigns. With 47 goals in all competitions, Haaland has broken the record for most goals in one season in all competitions by a Premier League player, surpassing Mo Salah in 2017/18 and Ruud van Nistelrooy in 2002/03.

In a league of his own

There have only ever been two better goalscoring Premier League seasons than Erling Haaland’s uncompleted debut campaign thus far. The Norwegian has ten games remaining to surpass Alan Shearer (34 goals in 94/95) and Andy Cole (34 goals in 93/94). He has also drawn level with Mohamed Salah’s record of 32 goals in a 38 game season, achieved by the Egyptian in 2017/18.

Haaland is currently nine goals clear of his nearest ‘challenger’ for the Golden Boot, with Harry Kane having managed only 23 goals so far. Despite having approximately zero chance of adding to his tally of Golden Boots, Kane has himself already surpassed the Premier League’s top goalscorers from several previous seasons. However, Haaland's achievement of scoring 32 goals in his first eight months in the league is nothing short of remarkable, especially when you consider that it surpasses the career totals of some of the game's most legendary players, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Michael Ballack, Luka Modric, and Samuel Eto’o.

Haaland's remarkable scoring run has seen him become one of the most exciting young talents in football. He is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world right now and has broken numerous records in his debut season in the Premier League. If he can continue his current form, there's no telling how many more records he will break in the future.
