Young India batter Prithvi Shaw had been a sensation at the start of his career. Getting into the senior team and then playing for India at the age of 20 would have been nothing short of a dream. However, with poor form and temperament, Shaw lost his place in the team and is currently struggling to get another chance.

Meanwhile, Shaw has spoken about his batting abilities and comparisons with star Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara. He said that He couldn't bat like Pujara, and vice versa. "Personally, I feel I don't have to change my game, but I could be a little smarter than I am. I can't bat like Pujara sir bats, or Pujara sir can't bat like me. So, what I am trying to do is those things that have brought me here until now, for example, the aggressive batting; I don't like to change that," said Shaw in Alur.

The 23-year-old Mumbai batter further accepted that he needs to score runs as every single run will count for him in his journey to make a comeback. "I think whichever game is important to me right now is as important as anything. Even if I'm playing the Duleep Trophy or my Mumbai game, I feel it's very important for me to bring out my best," said Shaw while interacting with the media.

Prithvi Shaw failed to convert starts in the Duleep Trophy

Shaw would have preferred to be among the big runs in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal, but his 25 and 26 were ineffective. Shaw agreed that the hitters' conditions were difficult, but he outlined a strategy for survival and scoring runs. "It's not that you can always be perfect, but I try to work harder after these kinds of things happen (not getting runs). T20 is a bit more slashing but with a similar mindset. Not in the same way as in T20 with me when I am playing red-ball cricket as well," said Shaw.

Notably, in the semifinal game, Cheteshwar Pujara scored a magnificent century in the second inning. He scored 133 runs off 278 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and a six. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav also scored 52 runs in the second inning. Apart from these players, Sarfaraz Khan was also part of the West Zone. However, he failed to impress in the game. It's worth noting that West Zone will face South Zone in the finals of the Duleep Trophy.
