The Pakistan Cricket Team's schedule for the Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to undergo changes. As reported by RevSportz, the team's first three matches will see changes to accommodate iconic India vs. Pakistan clash on October 14. According to media reports, their games against Sri Lanka and India have been rescheduled.

The match against Sri Lanka will now be held on October 10 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad instead of October 12. Similarly, the clash against India has been moved to October 14 from the earlier date of October 15 in Ahmedabad. Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board has accepted all these changes, and the Indian Cricket Board might release a new schedule by this week.

Apart from Pakistan's schedule, some other matches are also being rescheduled due to the India-Pakistan clash. The match between New Zealand and Bangladesh, which was initially set for the morning of October 14, will now take place on October 15.

Moreover, the England vs. Afghanistan game will be converted into a day-night fixture on Sunday. These changes are made to maximise viewership during India vs. Pakistan clash, as it will be the only match scheduled for October 14.

Pakistan's participation in the 2023 World Cup is in jeopardy

Amid the changes in schedule, Pakistan's participation in the upcoming ODI World Cup is still not confirmed. According to the latest news reports, a high-level committee under the leadership of Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will decide their participation in the marquee event. According to Cricbuzz, the committee will chair a meeting on Thursday to decide the fate of Pakistan cricket.

While the committee's stance on the World Cup remains unclear, there might be a possibility of seeking permission for a security check in India before granting approval for Babar Azam's team to participate in the tournament from October 5 to November 19. The committee, comprising Sports Minister Ahsan Mazari, Maryam Aurangzeb, Asad Mahmood, Amin ul Haq, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and former diplomat Tariq Fatmi, will play a crucial role in making this decision.
