Matt Riddle officiallly joins MLW after being released by WWE in September

On Thursday, officially MLW account on social media announced Matt Riddle's participation in the promotion. On January 6, Riddle was previously set to take on Jacob Fatu at MLW's King of Colosseum.

Matt Riddle joins MLW

Matt Riddle the 37-year-old American wrestler has been released by WWE following a controversy which was revolving around him, before eventually getting released from the promotion amongst many other talented superstars. There were speculations that what the wrestler will do after being released from the ring. During September 2023's release of WWE Superstars it allowed them to participate in and work for other promotions. The former US Champion has officially joined Major League Wrestling (MLW). 

On Thursday, officially MLW account on social media announced Matt Riddle's participation in the promotion. On January 6, Riddle was previously set to take on Jacob Fatu at MLW's King of Colosseum. The business released a teaser and made the formal declaration. It will be Riddle's first match since September 2023, where he teamed up with Drew McIntyre to face The Viking Raiders on WWE RAW.

He was a regular member during fomer RAW CEO Vince McMahon. After the new generation took over, and Matt Riddle was facing real-life issues, which eventually led to his release from the company. Riddle commented about CM Punk's return to WWE and facing Randy Ortan as well. 

He’s going to be on virtually all of our shows: Court Bauer

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Court Bauer said, "It’s open. He’s going to be on virtually all of our shows going forward. Where that takes us down the road, we’ll see. He’s able to work for other places, just to let everyone know that. He’s primarily with us. He’s going to be with us and there is going to be other stuff coming down the road that he’ll reveal on his own, but we’ll be one of his bigger focuses."

Riddle commenting on Punk's return said, "You know, I'm not surprised because WWE (...) the one thing they like [is] money, and CM Punk is money just like he was money in mixed martial arts. So, you can't argue [with] a man that's money. But, yeah, then that's just like the UFC. I know if I fight, I'll sell tickets. So, just if they want."
