Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey found himself in a hilarious controversy when a barber accused him of not paying for a haircut. During the Leeds Test, a barber from the area claimed that Carey came and had a haircut but didn’t pay for it due to a lack of cash. However, former England skipper Alastair Cook confirmed that it was a mistake on Barber’s side.
However, former Australia skipper Steve Smith gave a cheeky reply to the controversy by confirming that Carey finally had a haircut. In a recent social media post, Smith said that he could confirm that Carey had a haircut and did pay for it. “I can confirm that Alex Carey has now had a haircut and that he paid for it.”
Notably, Australia will now move to Old Trafford for the fourth Test of the Ashes in 2023. The Vistors are currently leading the series 2-1 after winning the first two games. The spotlight will be on Steve Smith and Alex Carey, as both fell cheap in the third Test, where England displayed a fight to stay alive in the five-match series. In his landmark Test, Smith only scored 24 runs in two innings.

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes-led England will be keen to continue their winning run. The team would look to dominate visitors in the do-or-die game. If England fails to capitalise in the fourth Test, they will lose their first Ashes series at home after 2001. With a win in the Headingley Test, England will aim to level the series at Old Trafford.
Notably, England has called veteran pacer James Anderson for the do-or-die game. They have recalled him after giving him a two-match rest. It’s worth noting that Anderson will join Stuart Broad and Mark Wood in the pace attack, along with skipper Ben Stokes. Apart from him, there is no sign of any changes on the victorious side for the upcoming game.
