'Ye drama kab khatam hoga yaar' - Fans react to Pakistan likely to boycott the 50-over World Cup

Pakistan Cricket Team is reportedly willing to boycott the upcoming ODI World Cup in India if the Indian cricket team continues with its stance of not traveling to Pakistan.

Both the Indian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board have failed to reach a middle ground on this issue. Apparently, the PCB wants the Men In Blue to visit Pakistan for the continental cup. On the other hand, the Indian team can't do so as they are unlikely to get permission for the same.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has the hosting rights for the ODI-format Asia Cup in 2023. However, the Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah, who also happens to be the ACC chairman, made it obvious that the Indian cricket team is not going to Pakistan last year.

The PCB has suggested hosting the Asia Cup using a "hybrid model," in which Pakistan plays its matches at home while India competes at a neutral site, most likely Dubai.

As with the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, which India and Sri Lanka hosted, it is recognized that the Indian Cricket Board desires the entire tournament moved to the UAE, which has a total of three venues in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.

It is understood that Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) supported the Indian Cricket Board during the informal conversation amongst ACC members regarding holding the tournament at a neutral site.

According to an ACC insider, the Indian squad was invited and promised the highest level of security and the best accommodation in the last official letter conversation between the PCB, ACC, and the Indian Cricket Board.

Narendra Modi Stadium set to host Pakistan in ODI World Cup 2023

Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is now the front-runner to host a thrilling India vs. Pakistan match during the next Cricket World Cup 2023, according to a report. According to the report, Pakistan would likely play most of its games in Bengaluru and Chennai for security reasons, if the present issue is solved. Pakistan's matches may possibly be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Bangladesh, on the contrary, will play the majority of its fixtures in Kolkata as well as Guwahati. The supporters from the nearby country will travel less because of this.
