Former India vice-captain, KL Rahul has indicated that he might make a comeback in the game ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. He has been out of the game since IPL 2023. During the reverse fixture between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rahul got injured. He was first ruled out of the games and then ruled out of the tournament.

The 31-year-old was replaced by Karun Nair, who didn't play a game. The right-hander had to travel to London to get operated. During his stay in London and after the operation, the LSG skipper was found in a nightclub that created a bit of a controversy. However, the Karnataka player returned to India after a while and started his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. Since then, he has been trying to get back in shape.

Meanwhile, he posted a photo on Instagram suggesting his getting back to full fitness. This has left some fans in anxiety as they weren't happy with his performance with the bat.

KL Rahul missed the WTC final but might make it Asia Cup 2023

The former Royal Challengers Bangalore player missed the WTC Final 2023 last month. He was replaced by Ishan Kishan who didn't play a game. Notably, India will now play an all-format series in West Indies, starting from July 12. The team would look to build their squad acorss all formats as the ODI World Cup 2023 is few months away.

On the other hand, the T20 World Cup 2024 is only one year away. Also, the WTC cycle 2023-25 for India and the West Indies will start with this series. If the players who get the opportunity do well across formats, Rahul's comeback in the team might be extremely difficult. On the other hand, even if he is selected to make a comeback, he won't be able to before the Asia Cup 2023, which will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
