After a horrible run in Indian Premier League 2023, Delhi Capitals batter Prithvi Shaw made a public appearance for the first time. Shaw made his appearance for IIFA 2023 where he was spotted with his girlfriend Nidhi Tapadia. Notably, the couple is in relation for a long time but made their first public appearance at the prestigious award show.
The 23-year-old cricketer recently played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 and was in terrible form at first, prompting the team management to drop him from the starting XI. Later, the Mumbai-born opener returned to the playing XI, scoring a half-century against Punjab Kings. Shaw, on the other hand, hasn't done much for Delhi this year. He scored just 106 runs in eight innings, including a half-century against PBKS.
It's worth noting that before IPL 2023, Shaw made his comeback to the Indian Cricket Team for a T20I series against New Zealand. However, his current form and temperament will once again push him out of the National side. Shaw might be looking at the upcoming 50-over World Cup and desperately need to score some runs and play some match-winning knocks to be in consideration.
Prithvi Shaw had a bad time off the field too
Apart from his professional life, Shaw, in his personal life, was also in deep trouble. He was charged with assault against influencer Sapna Gill. Gill slammed Shaw with various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including harassment and inappropriate touch. This all came up after they fought with each other outside a famous club in Mumbai.
Despite all of this, Shaw has been phenomenal in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2022 and 2023. In the Ranji Trophy, he scored 595 runs in six matches, while in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 332 runs in ten matches. Shaw will need to replicate his domestic performances in the upcoming opportunities to stay in contention for the World Cup and the Indian cricket team.
