The Indian Premier League 2023 has been a wonderful tournament to watch. The cricket has been of the highest quality.  The home and away format has comeback after a three-year gap. The home and away cycle has not given advantage to all teams because of the three-year hiatus. The tournament will come to an end on May 28th after a winner will be declared between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.

Ahead of the big final Sunil Gavaskar has said that his heart wants Chennai Super Kings to win the final against Gujarat Titans. The two best sides of IPL 2023 will lock horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It will be the battle of fire and ice between Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni which will be very interesting to watch. GT are the defending champions of IPL. They won the title in 2022.

“Chennai Super Kings have always been my second favourite team apart from the Mumbai Indians. My heart wants CSK to win because the fact that MS Dhoni is able to win it one more time would be fantastic. Proving once again that calm, cool decision-making can make a difference. Having said that, Gujarat Titans have been the best team. They have got a terrific opener in Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya,” Gavaskar said on India Today.

“Look the runs have to be put on the board. I know a lot of people of habit of saying that bowlers win you matches but bowlers can only win you matches if there are enough runs to defend. This is where Gujarat Titans and Chennai both have been very good. There batting is contributing, their bowlers are contributing and it’s a very good combination that’s why they are the top two teams,” Gavaskar gave a lowdown as to why CSK and GT are the two best sides in IPL 2023.

Time will tell whether CSK will become five-time IPL Champions and equal Mumbai Indians in terms of IPL titles. From GT's point of view, they would want history to repeat itself and become two-time IPL champions. All in all it is going to be a mouthwatering contest.
