The last few years have been very difficult for England cricket team fast bowler Jofra Archer. In the year 2021, Archer suffered a serious injury, due to which he remained out of the field for many months. But after that, once there was a complaint of injury to his elbow, he was out for a long time. Earlier this year, Archer returned to limited-overs cricket for England but he failed to perform like earlier and didn't look much effective.

Recently, he featured in a few Indian Premier League 2023 matches for Mumbai Indians (MI) and displayed a poor performance for the franchise. In 5 matches he was able to take only 5 wickets and conceded 190 runs at a horrible economy rate of 9.50. However, that wasn't enough to keep him out of the playing XI as his elbow injury started bothering him again. Due to his elbow injury, he was ruled out of IPL midway.

Iโ€™m sure we will see Jofra back to his best: Rob Key

The England cricket team has announced 15 players for the upcoming one-off Test match against Ireland, in which Jofra Archer's name is not included nor will he be named in the Ashes series starting next month. England's Managing Director of Cricket Rob Key has shared the information about the news that Archer will not be seen playing for England this summer season. However, he has expressed hope that he will recover soon and make a comeback.

"It has been a frustrating and upsetting period for Jofra Archer. He was making good progress until a recurrence of the elbow injury, which kept him out for an extended period previously. We wish him the best of luck with his recovery. Iโ€™m sure we will see Jofra back to his best and winning games for England, whatever the format. Hopefully, sooner rather than later," Key was quoted as saying by India TV.
