The Apex Cricket Council has sparked anticipation for the upcoming Men's ODI World Cup 2023 by unveiling mascots. Surprising the fans, this time there are not one but two mascots for the prestigious event. The unveiling took place in Gurugram, where young Yash Dhull and Shafali Verma, reigning U19 World Cup Champions, proudly presented the dynamic mascot duo.

Speaking about the idea and emergence of the mascots, the Apex Cricket Council said, "Originating from a distant cricket utopia called the Crictoverse, the male and female mascots represent distinct traits that stand as symbols of both gender equality and diversity." Meanwhile, Council's head of events, Chris Tetley, said, "With the representation of both genders, they epitomise the vital role of gender equality in our dynamic world."

Further, the council explained the characters briefly. According to it, the female mascot, representing a bowler, wields a turbo-powered arm, unleashing fireballs with incredible speed and precision. Her unmatched reflexes, fierce flexibility, and unwavering determination make her a force to be reckoned with in fast bowling. Adorned with a belt carrying six power cricket orbs, she stands ready to ignite the game with her game-changing tactics.

Fans will get a chance to name the mascot duo

Meanwhile, according to the council, the male mascot represents a batter. He exudes a captivating blend of coolness and explosive batting prowess. His electrifying shots, from finesse to powerful sixes, resonate with an energy that captivates audiences worldwide. His electromagnetic bat and versatile shot repertoire amplify the excitement, lighting up the stage with every stroke.

Further, the council was informed that cricket enthusiasts from around the world have the chance to contribute to the naming of these mascots. The naming stage will be open for participation until August 27. It will allow fans to play a role in shaping these iconic figures. Throughout the ODI World Cup, the mascots will engage with fans in person, through broadcasts, and on digital platforms.
