England's explosive middle order batter Harry Brook has insisted the Indian Premier League (IPL) was more exhausting physically as well as mentally for him than the ongoing Ashes against Australia. He was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a whopping amount of Rs 13.25 crore.

He failed to deliver in the world's best franchise league, in 11 games, he managed to score only 190 runs at an average of 21 and a strike rate of 123. Brook scored 190 runs, in which he scored a century in one game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The IPL was pretty tough to be fair: Harry Brook

He was asked by a journalist, "Is this the most exhausting experience you’ve had physically and mentally?," he replied, that the Ashes was at number two on his list as he revealed that the IPL has been his most exhausting experience so far, saying, "It’s a good question. It’s probably second. The IPL was pretty tough to be fair. It has been tough but we obviously had that 10 days, a week or so off. I managed to go on holiday."

In the current Ashes, the 24-year-old has been in excellent form. He recorded his fourth overall fifty on Thursday, his third in a row. In the first four Tests, he had the following results: 32, 46, 50, 4, 3, 75, and 61. The batter has contributed to England scoring 283 runs on day one of the current fifth Test by scoring 85 runs off just 91 balls.

The Ashes is being played by Harry Brook, who could not have wished for a more heated series. And one of the reporters questioned him if the series was the most difficult one for him so far as he was speaking to the media following the play for the day.

He has indicated a desire to negotiate a multi-year central deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Currently, Central Contracts are only given on a yearly basis, however, multi-year contracts might be implemented to discourage franchise interest.

Recently Moeen Ali might have been ruled out of the rest of the Ashes due to his groin injury during Day 1 of the fifth Ashes Test at Kennington Oval.
