There was a lot of dispute going on between the Indian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) related to the Asia Cup 2023 venue. Now, according to the information given by the sources of PCB, Pakistan can remain the host of the Asia Cup 2023 to be held this year. Sources told that an offer can be made to hold Team India's matches in the Asia Cup in the UAE. In such a situation, if Team India reaches the final of the Asia Cup, then the final match of the tournament will also be played in the UAE.

On February 4, an emergency meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Bahrain. Earlier, in the program released by the ACC for the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan was not mentioned as the host of the tournament.

Asia Cup 2023 will be played in September

While interacting with the media in Bahrain, PCB Chief Najam Sethi said that there will be further talks on this issue on the sidelines of next month's apex cricket body meeting as the matter has not been resolved yet. However, sources have now said that there is a possibility that Pakistan will continue to host the tournament but some matches will be held in UAE and India will play all its matches in UAE.

The Asia Cup is to be held in Pakistan in September this year but the Indian Cricket Board Secretary and ACC Chief Jai Shah had said in October last year that Team India will not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup.

When Jai Shah refused to go to Pakistan to participate in the Asia Cup last year, there was an uproar in Pakistan. Many veteran players of Pakistan including PCB objected to this statement of the official cricket board of India. The then PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja had said that if India will not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then it can also affect Pakistan's visit to India in the World Cup to be played in the year 2023.
