The wait for the One Day World Cup schedule to be released grows longer every day. According to the most recent information and reports, the Apex Cricket Council intends to announce the schedule for the 2023 World Cup on June 27. Surprisingly, the World Cup is scheduled to begin on October 5th, which is just 100 days after June 27th.

Given the ongoing conflict between the Indian Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the drama surrounding the release of the World Cup schedule has been upsetting fans for a while. The two leading cricket organisations of competing nations have been at odds with one another. The PCB has not yet given their approval for the draught timetable that the Apex Council has submitted.

“We have written to the Apex Council that we can’t give approval or disapproval to this . It’s our government who has to decide, just like when it comes to India, it’s their government that decides when they go to play,” said Najam Sethi.

27th June appears to be the likely date for the World Cup schedule announcement

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made it plain that they will only send their consent after receiving approval from their government for the match locations. In Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, the PCB made it plain that they would not play against India due to safety reasons. The game would probably be moved to Chennai as a result.

That is not all, though. The PCB then objected to facing Australia in Bengaluru and Afghanistan in Chennai. PCB emphasised that even though Chennai's track is spin-friendly, they are not at ease taking against an Afghan squad that relies heavily on spin. Afghanistan will play PCB in Bengaluru, and Australia will play PCB in Chennai. The Apex Council, however, paid little attention to the situation and turned down the plea.

The publication of the World Cup Schedule has been hampered by these delays. The Apex Council will announce the schedule as soon as the PCB sends its approval, and the 27th of June appears to be the most likely date for that release. The Indian Cricket Board has also planned for a full-fledged countdown event for the same.
