Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Devon Conway and Shivam Dube sat down for a conversation after their team’s victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday night. The two star performers of the match had scored fifties, with Conway smashing 83 runs off 45 balls and Dube contributing 52 runs off 26 balls. Their partnership helped CSK reach a score of 226, which was the highest-ever total for the team against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In a video posted by IPL’s official social media handles, Conway spoke about his happiness with the way the game had gone. “Tonight was a great night. For me personally, I was very happy with the way things went as It was a really good wicket to bat on,” he said. “I managed to form some good partnerships with Ajinkya (Rahane) who’ve done really well up top here. And then obviously with you out in the middle was a great partnership and I gave you the singles and you gave us the sixers, so very enjoyable night.”

The duo of Conway and Rahane had taken CSK beyond the 50-run mark in the powerplay, with a fine partnership that saw them slamming Bangalore bowlers all around the ground. After Rahane was dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga, Dube came out to bat and stitched up a 50-run partnership stand with Conway in just 26 balls. When asked about his 111-meter six, Dube credited the fans and the Chennai team for their support.
There's always one guy who went under the high ball and that's MS Dhoni- Conway
Reflecting on RCB’s effort to chase the target, Conway praised CSK’s bowlers for pulling it back during the death overs. “The way they (CSK bowlers) pulled it back, you know getting those wickets at crucial times and during the death we saw from Tushar (Deshpandey) was special,” he said.
Dube also mentioned the two great catches by the skipper and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni behind the stumps. “Those were crucial catches. There’s always one guy who went under the high ball and that’s MS Dhoni,” added Conway.
It was a great night for CSK, and the two star performers couldn’t be happier with the way things had gone. The fans and support from the Chennai team had made the atmosphere even more enjoyable, making it one of the best matches they had played in the IPL.
