The first penalty was taken by Selma Bacha from France. She failed to convert the opportunity. On the other hand, Australia’s first opportunity, taken by Caitlin Foord scored a goal. In reply, France equalized thanks to Kadidiatou Diani. In the second penalty by Australia, Steph Catley failed to convert. On the other hand, Australia and France scored a goal each.
Even though France took the lead in the next chance, Australia equalized again. In the end, Australia won the game by 7-6 in a penalty shootout.
