Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the two stars of the Indian Cricket of this generation. The two veterans has been the match winners for the side over the years. There were speculations that the two will not be participating in the T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA, but they removed all the spculations by playing in the recently concluded T20I series against Afghanistan. Rohit is currently captaining the Men in Blue in the ongoing Test series against England and the former India captain is currently out of the series due to personal reasons.

Former Australian left-arm wristspinner Brad Hogg feels ace hitters Rohit and Virat should open the innings for India in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and the United States in June this year. Hogg believes that opening the batting would bring the best out of Kohli.

He also believes that if veteran players like himself and Rohit are well-prepared, they can erupt at the conclusion of the innings. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also suggested that Virat Kohli's return to the T20Is would provide India with the necessary expertise.

That's where I think: Brad Hogg

In a video on his YouTube channel, here's what Brad Hogg had to say about Virat Kohli's role for India in the T20 World Cup 2024, "If Virat Kohli is playing in the T20 World Cup, I would like to see him opening the batting with Rohit Sharma. That's where I think he can get the best out of him with the fields up and he can use the pace. At the backend, if you have one of Rohit or Virat batting through the innings, you could have perfect stabilization."

He also said about Tilak Varma to be in the Test squad, "I spent some time with Tilak Varma before the IPL last year with the Mumbai Indians second team. I think he is a fantastic player and has a great head on his shoulders. I am surprised that he didn't get an opportunity in this Test series. He may not have the runs under his belt but I think he could be a leader for Indian cricket down the track."
