As this 16th edition of the Indian Premier League progresses, we are getting top and flop players of the season. Till now many players have appeared in excellent form, while many have failed completely. The list contains many young players while there are also some experienced players as well.
Franchises were expecting a great performance from their young players but they couldn’t live up to the expectations. On that note,
we will take a look at five players who have been complete flops this season.
5. Mitchell Marsh
The star Australian allrounder Mitchell Marsh performed really well for Delhi Capitals in 2022 but he couldn't produce the same in the current season so far as in 5 matches he has scored only 31 runs in season so far. He has also disappointed the fans with his bowling as he is only able to take 3 wickets this season so far.
4. Jofra Archer
The premium England pacer came into Mumbai Indians (MI) squad with many responsibilities as it was expected that he would be leading the MI bowling attack in Jasprit Bumrah's absence. But that didn't happen as he has performed really badly in the season so far. He only played in the season and took only 1 wicket while conceding more than 70 runs at an economy rate of 9.38.
3. Dinesh Karthik
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has only been able to score 61 runs at an average of 10.16 in 7 games so far in the IPL 2023, with a best score of just 28. His performance let down many RCB fans, he even registered two ducks in the season already.
2. Riyan Parag
Rajasthan Royals (RR) have given a top performance this season so far, but the team's middle order batsman Riyan Parag has appeared completely flop. Parag has played in 5 innings so far in the season and has scored only 54 runs and the highest score is just 20 runs.
1. Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw, the destructive opener for Delhi Capitals (DC), who earns Rs 8 crore per season in IPL, has been the biggest letdown of this season. Much was anticipated of him in Rishabh Pant's absence, but the dashing batter has turned out to be a bust. He has scored just 47 runs in his first 6 games. Don't even talk about the average and strike rate figures.
