Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers in the world and has many records to his name. The star cricketer remained the face of Indian cricket for a long time because of his aggressive captaincy and responsible batting display. However, after Covid-19, he lost his form and was struggling to score runs.

Meanwhile, the star batter gained a massive fan following when he started playing for the Bangalore-based franchise in the Indian T20 League. It was in 2008 when he first joined the franchise as an Under-19 player and is still a part of the team. He also completed 15 years with Bangalore on March 11, 2023, but it was nothing but a roller coaster ride for him.

Bangalore managed to qualify for the finals three times but every time they failed to get past the finishing line. Kohli was given the responsibility to lead the franchise in 2013 and managed to take the team to the finals in 2016 but they lost the match to Hyderabad. However, it was a brilliant year for Kohli as a batter.

Bangalore will hope to win their first Indian T20 League title this year

He smashed 973 runs in 16 matches in 2016 which is still the highest score to be ever made in a single cash-rich league season. He also smashed 4 centuries in that season and helped the team to reach the finals for the third time. However, he left the captaincy in 2022 and since then it is Australian star Faf du Plessis who is leading the team.

Meanwhile, Kohli believes this will be the year owing to the team having a solid balance with bat and ball. After leaving captaincy in the 2022 season, Kohli is yet to find his groove with the bat in hand. Fans are desperate to see the 2016 version of the right-hand batter.

However, this year they would look to change it and for that, they walked into the auctions with not many gaps to be filled. Bangalore bought five uncapped players to complete their squad in the auction. England’s Will Jack was their most expensive buy in the auction as they spent INR 3.2 crore for the right-handed batter.
