Former Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja praised India’s performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The Indian team have won both the opening matches of the four-match Test series convincingly. The first Test was played in Nagpur, where Team India won by an inning and 132 runs while they won the Delhi Test by 6 wickets.

Raja, who generally talks against the Indian side, this time said good things about the Indian players on his YouTube Channel and claimed that it’s impossible for any team to beat India at home. He said India is doing the same thing that Australia used to do at their home. While criticising the Australian batters, he said that they showed ordinary performance against the spinners

“How Australia’s match has finished, similarly, Aussies used to finish games against sub-continent teams in Perth or Brisbane. The tables have turned. It shows that Australia are not prepared, especially when it comes to playing good Test cricket in India. It’s impossible to beat Team India in India. An ordinary performance against spin. Nine wickets were dismissed in one session. Jadeja produced an excellent bowling performance," Raja said.

Their batting against spin is disastrous: Raja on Australian batters

Raja talked about allrounder Axar Patel’s brilliant batting display in the lower order where he shared a crucial partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin and avoided Australia to take a huge lead. Raja again took a dig at Australian batters and said that they played the wrong shots and even said the Kangaroos were not mentally strong.

“The clincher was Axar Patel’s batting. Given the circumstance, he scored 60-70 runs. He shared a partnership with Ashwin when Australia could have got a sizeable lead. That’s because Australia were not mentally strong and there is technical flaws. Their batting against spin is disastrous. They played wrong shots, sweep shots, and ruckus batting,” the former Pakistan skipper added.

The third match of the series will be played in Indore on March 1 and the fourth match of the series will be played in Ahmedabad on March 9. Team India is now ahead by 2-0 in the four-match Test series and just needs one win in order to qualify for the World Test Championship final in Oval. After the Test series, a three-match ODI series will also be played which will start on March 17.
