Pakistan's condition has become worse in the absence of captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Afghanistan created history by defeating them by 7 wickets in the second T20. Under the leadership of star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, the team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series. This is the first time that Afghanistan has won a series against any of the top-6 teams in the apex cricket body rankings. Earlier, Afghanistan won the first T20I match by 6 wickets.

Talking about the match, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. However, it proved to be a wrong decision as they lost their first two batters without even scoring a single run. The Pakistani batters were struggling a lot and were at 63/5. However, the most experienced player in the team Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan steadied the ship and stitched a 67-run stand for the sixth wicket, which helped the team to achieve a fighting total of 130 runs.

Afghanistan bowlers were on fire as every bowler displayed a brilliant performance. Fazalhaq Farooqi took 2 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Skipper Rashid Khan also picked up a wicket and conceded only 16 runs. Kareem Janal and Naveen-ul-Haq also picked up a wicket each.

A brilliant all-round performance by Afghanistan

Chasing the target, Afghanistan started well, despite losing Usman Ghani in the fourth over as Rahamnullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran stitched a 56-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. However, they were playing pretty slowly, which increased the required run rate. To make things worse, both of them departed when things got tight. But Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran kept their cool and smashed 17 runs in the penultimate over by Naseem Shah.

And it was just formality in the last over as Afghanistan required only 5 runs. Zadran finished the match by smashing a four. Pakistan were able to take only 2 wickets in the match, which were taken by Zaman Khan and Ihsanullah. Afghanistan will look to win the last match of the series as well in order to whitewash Pakistan.
