Pakistan and New Zealand are squaring off at home on April 29, 2023, in the second match of their current five-match ODI series. The Men in Green are seeking another victory in front of the home fans while the Kiwis are aiming for revenge after dropping the first game of the series. But an unexpected incident that happened during the game shocked the spectators.

The 30-yard circle's size was changed after the first over of the game since it had not been accurately measured before. On-field umpire Aleem Dar then rectified the inaccurate dimension by measuring the distance with steps. Fans criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board harshly for such an embarrassing performance in an international ODI match when the video got viral.

Talking about the match, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam chose to bowl first after winning the toss. NZ will be pleased with their efforts after posting a respectable total of 336 in their innings. Despite the fact that Will Young was unable to contribute today, Chad Bowes and Daryl Mitchell kept the scoreboard moving. They provided a strong foundation for their team by stitching 86 runs for the second wicket.

Brilliant batting from Daryl Mitchell

After the first left, captain Tom Latham entered and played some good batting as well. By eliminating the poor deliveries, Mitchell and Latham kept the Pakistani bowlers under strain. Their sweeps and reverse sweeps disrupted the spinners' rhythm, allowing the runs to continue. Latham fell short of his century by two runs, while Mitchell notched his second consecutive century. Pakistan did an excellent job with their death bowling, and they eased off a little towards the end.

Meanwhile, after losing the first ODI Latham talked about it in the post-match presentation and said, "I believe the score we received was around par. Daryl played a fantastic inning under the circumstances. For new players, the pitch got harder, but Pakistan played excellently. No progress could be made by us. In the end, it became more difficult, but Pakistan's two pairings up top were crucial. It wasn't easy to start, so I suppose a few more wickets might have changed things.
