India and Bangladesh clashed again in the second match of the two-match Test series in Mirpur. And it was a good opening day for India as they managed to bowl out the opposition in less than three sessions.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan elected to bat first. Openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan could not give them a strong start as the team lost consecutive 2 wickets on the score of 39, but as a result of a fine knock by Mominul of 84 runs off 157 balls on his Test comeback and a few handy contributions by other batters, the hosts managed to finish with a respectable total.

Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim played a few enterprising shots and tried to be aggressive, but they couldn't last long against the experience of Indian bowlers. From 213/5, Bangladesh collapsed and were eventually bundled for 227.

Brilliant bowling performance by the Indian bowlers

Jaydev Unadkat bowled well on his comeback claiming a couple of wickets. Unadkat ended his 12-year wait with a maiden Test wicket, he dismissed Zakir, the centurion in the first Test, cheaply for 15, giving India an early breakthrough on Day 1. Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin showed their experience as they bagged four wickets each.

In reply, the Indian openers had to survive a handful of overs, which Shubman Gill and Rahul eventually did. Rahul's stay was a nervy one where he survived a few close calls. He also survived a close lbw shout by taking a review. However, the Indian openers will look to be positive as they walk out to bat on Day 2.

Bangladesh will look to take some early wickets on Day 2 if they want to level up the series by 1-1. On the other hand, the Indian batters will look to put up a strong and solid performance with the bat to whitewash the series by 2-0.
