The most awaited men’s ODI World Cup for team India squad is set to be announced on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. IST. It has been announced that the 15-member Team India squad for the World Cup will be announced on September 5 from India's camp in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar is likely to be present at the venue. Similar to the Asia Cup 2023 squad announcement, the World Cup squad will also be streamed and telecasted live. There may be some changes in the squad that is currently playing in the Asia Cup. Yuzvendra Chahal might be called up for the mega event.

Will there be any surprises in Team India squad? 

According to reports, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Prasidh Krishna will be the ones who might be omitted from the World Cup. There are not many changes expected, as Agarkar himself said that the final 15 names will be selected among the 18 players that have travelled to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup.

Agarkar said during the press conference when India's squad for the Asia Cup was announced, "It's really a no-brainer. We picked these 18 guys, so it'll be in and around those guys. Few important guys are coming back from injury. Hopefully, all goes well with them. They have got a few games now in the Asia Cup, so yeah, it'll be between these guys."

Until September 27, the Indian Cricket Board has the option to make any alterations. By this date, India is expected to have competed in 3-4 Asia Cup games and also three One Day Internationals against Australia. India's major are of concern will be KL Rahul as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain missed the first two games of the Asia Cup due to a groin strain. He did not even travel with the squad to Sri Lanka. India will take on Pakistan in their first Super Fours match on Sunday, September 10. It remains to be a question whether of not Yuzvendra Chahal would be considered as a backup option for the spin trio of Jadeja, Axar, and Kuldeep Yadav.
