India ‘A’ became the champions of the ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 after beating Bangladesh ‘A’ by 31 runs in a low-scoring thrilling final match which was played on Wednesday, June 21 at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. The whole tournament was affected by rain a lot, however, the fans got to witness a nail-biting final in the end.

Meanwhile, India’s star young allrounder Shreyanka Patil produced a brilliant performance throughout the tournament and was named Player of the Series. Interestingly, during the final match, Pail was seen celebrating like former India captain Virat Kohli after a wicket. After being asked about the celebration in the post-match celebration, she said that the aggression comes naturally to her as she is a big fan of Kohli.

“Aggression comes naturally to me because I've been a big Virat Kohli fan since childhood. I love to play under pressure".

The 20-year-old youngster was also seen during the recently concluded Women’s Premier League (WPL) where she played for the start-studded team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). She played 7 matches in the tournament and took 6 wickets while scoring 62 runs. However, that couldn’t help her team in any way as RCB finished at the 2nd last position in the points table with only 2 wins. Australian veteran allrounder Eyse Perry heaped praise on the youngster.

"She's a real special start for the future. I have not seen someone like that of her age around the world for a long time, with that kind of skill and just attitude. So, that's really cool," Perry was quoted as saying by Zee News.

Talking about Patil’s performance in the tournament, the 20-year-old Patil bowled 7 overs in the two matches of the tournament and picked up 9 wickets from just 7 overs. She averaged 1.67 runs with the ball, giving away just 15 runs off 42 balls that she bowled. It includes 1 four-for and 1 five-for. Not to forget, she also scored 15 runs for her team.
